Free community event to teach money skills that maximize a family’s budget for health and wellness
Families interested in learning how to stretch their money while still eating and living healthy are invited to the fifth annual Discovery Day, a free community event hosted by Maison Vie New Orleans at the Algiers Regional Library on Saturday, July 27th. Register by Friday, July 26th by calling (504) 452-5937 or emailing email@example.com.
At Discovery Day 2019: Money Talks, families will enjoy learning about budgeting, working together, and how to best shop for affordable, nutritious meals. Money, often one of the most challenging issues facing families, can cause conflict, hostility, and strain relationships. This event will look to help families create a better foundation for their health and wellness through smart money skills.
Phoebe Brown, HOPE Credit Union‘s New Orleans Program Officer, will lead the workshop on saving and budgeting while professional therapists from Maison Vie will provide mental health guidance. Every registered participant (children, teens, and adults) who currently are enrolled in elementary, junior, high, or college/trade schools will receive a complimentary gift card.
Last year, families learned methods on how to bring true happiness into their homes by working together while also making toys and treats for pets in the Algiers SPCA.
